The Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology is a public classical archaeology research centre established by the Government of Catalonia and the Rovira i Virgili University, with the participation of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia. Its purpose is to research and disseminate the classical civilisation and culture and to offer advanced training in the subject to researchers.

 
The Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology is a consortium established under an Agreement of the Government of Catalonia on 2 May 2000 (DOGC No. 3143 of 19 May).
